Beef Producers Invited To Take Three-Day Tour

If you're interested in cutting-edge beef production ideas, you'll learn a lot by going on this three-day, three state trip.

Iowa beef cattle producers are invited to go on a three-day learning trip to locations in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. It's an opportunity to tour innovative beef operations, and visit with successful producers and cutting edge researchers.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach beef program specialist Joe Sellers says the trip will visit some individual cattle farms. Also, stops at the University of Illinois Dixon Springs Research Center and Land O'Lakes Purina Feed Longview Animal Nutrition Center in Missouri will provide current information on research being conducted at those locations.

The trip runs from July 16-18 with passenger pick up at three southern Iowa locations.

"The trip includes several stops at private ranches and operations, in addition to the research facilities, during the three days. Those who attend will be able to see and ask questions about a number of timely topics pertinent to their own cattle farming operations."
