Farm Progress Show and Expoagro have joined together to present ag marketers and producers greater international agriculture market and product access and business opportunities.
Farm Progress Show recently signed a cooperation agreement with Expoagro, a major outdoor farm show in Argentina. This mutually beneficial agreement creates a platform for the shows to work together to aid market expansion of agricultural companies into a new country. Additionally, the goal of the new business alliance is to provide access for American and Argentinean farmers to technologies developed and utilized throughout the world.
Farm Progress Show and Expoagro have the same mission: To provide a venue for farmers, ag businesspeople and ag-related companies to interact, network and provide an educational environment. These market-leading events enable producers to gather information to make knowledgeable purchase decisions of ag products and services through extensive company displays and side-by-side comparisons of working field demonstrations.
"We are very excited about this new partnership with Expoagro," said Don Tourte, Farm Progress vice president, sales and events. "It offers extended business opportunities for our event exhibitors and for our show visitors. New technology access and even greater learning opportunities for clients and producers are at the core of this endeavor."
Key Market Expansion
Expoagro is known as Argentina's major agriculture exhibition. This four-day event rotates locations around Argentina and typically is held in March. Similar to the Farm Progress Show, Expoagro shareholders are the two main media groups in Argentina, La Nación and Clarín.
Much like visiting the Farm Progress Show, one of the main attractions are demonstrations showing the latest technology in planting, harvesting, spraying, packing, harrowing, rolling and more. There are more than 700 companies exhibiting agriculture products and services. Expoagro covers a little more ground than the Farm Progress Show, requiring a footprint of 1,235 acres, compared to Farm Progress Show's currently used 585 acres.
Current Success and Growth
Farm Progress Show, the United States' largest outdoor farm event, annually hosts nearly 600 exhibitors displaying new farm equipment, tractors, combines and farm implements; seed and crop protection products; and many additional farm supplies and services.
Field demonstrations are the highlight of the Farm Progress Show. Each show day, field demos include side-by-side tillage techniques, GPS and precision equipment, and tractor and combine performance comparisons on hundreds of corn acres available for harvesting. Live cattle-handling demonstrations include the newest cattle chutes, equipment, animal health products and work techniques. Additionally, the show features restored antique machinery, arts and crafts displays, horse training demonstrations and entertainment.
