Hay Expo Draws Crowd, Good Weather

Field demonstrations and exhibitors had more than perfect conditions for this year's Hay Expo show.

Conditions for this year's Hay Expo couldn't have been more perfect at Regancrest Holsteins, northeast of Waukon, Iowa.

The event, which had a record number of exhibitors for 2013, drew a crowd out to the exhibit and demonstration fields. Mowing, chopping, raking and baling demonstrations went on both days. Once the baling was done, people had a chance to talk to the dealers and ask questions and inspect the bales.

Trams shuttled people between the demonstration fields and the exhibitors.

This year's show had 110 exhibitors set up around the grounds - marking a record high.

During the noon hour, visitors were able to attend a 'Lunch and Learn' session with Dr. Bruce Anderson, extension forage specialist with the University of Nebraska. His insight into pricing hay and working with trusted buyers provided valuable information in today's super-heated hay market.
