The House could vote later this week on House Resolution 72 that would require 10 House committees to examine and report on regulations that impede job growth. The rule gives most of the chairs and ranking members control of one hour of debate time. Leaders of the Committees on Education and the Workforce, and Small Business get one hour total.
House Democrats have complained that House Republicans need to focus on job creation rather than examining regulations, but the GOP believes limiting these regulations is a way to foster job growth. The rule would allow Democrats to make one motion to recommit the resolution.
