The Iowa Corn Growers Association has announced the winners of 10 scholarships awarded through the Iowa Corn Future of Agriculture Scholarship program. The scholarships are given to high school seniors and to college students who are pursuing a degree in the 2011-12 school year.
"We are very excited for the inaugural Iowa Corn scholarship program and the opportunity to help ag students be successful," says Don Mason, director of grower services for ICGA. "In this first year of the program, we received numerous outstanding applications, which assures me that agriculture has a bright future."
The Iowa Corn Future of Agriculture Scholarship program awards five of the first-year scholarships for $500 each and also five $500 upperclassman scholarships to individuals who are pursuing a degree equipping them to contribute to the agriculture industry in Iowa. The program is sponsored by the Iowa Corn Growers Association and the Iowa Corn Promotion Board.

Applicants were also members of the Iowa Corn Growers Association or a dependent of a member. The selection committee had many excellent applications to choose from, says Mason.
