Robert Regenwether, a farm manager and rural appraiser for Farmers National Company, has won the 2014 Professional Farm Manager of the Year award. The announcement was made last week. Syngenta, AgProfessional magazine and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers co-sponsor the annual award, which recognizes excellence in farm management and customer satisfaction.
To honor Robert for this achievement, Syngenta made a $1,000 donation in his name. Robert decided to split the check between the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa and the North East Iowa Food Bank.
Currently in his 21st year of providing professional farm management services for Farmers National Company, Regenwether manages more than 18,000 acres for 91 clients in Iowa. Born and raised on a farm, the Hudson, Iowa resident connects with his clients and makes decisions with their best interests in mind.
Keeps best interests of his farm management clients in mind
As a farm manager, Regenwether is responsible for keeping up with the ever-changing farming technologies, making educated decisions regarding the land he manages along with being a support system to his clients. "It absolutely does give me peace of mind knowing he's here," says Maureen Wilson, longtime client of Regenwether. "I live 175 miles from my farm, and consequently I can't keep my eye on it all the time, but I know that Robert is looking out for my best interest."
Regenwether built a successful career on his passion for the environment and helping others. Through a deep seeded interest in farming, Regenwether understands his client's point of view and what needs to be done, resulting in unanimous customer satisfaction. "Client retentions are important for my company and for me, and I think clients appreciate that. They stay with us because we are doing a good job and keep them informed of what's going on with their farm property," says Regenwether.
