'Modern Marvels' to Showcase Future of Corn

TV program will explore the topic of corn, interviewing several Iowa experts.

The History Channel program "Modern Marvels" is exploring the topic of corn and will feature several Iowa State University experts in a broadcast on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. The program will look at the wonders of corn, its uses and its future.

The show airs on Cable Channel 45 on Mediacom in Ames and Des Moines. The show will also air on Channel 269 for DirecTV customers and Channel 120 for those with the Dish Network. Check your local listings in other parts of the state.

ISU experts who will be on the show include Bruce Babcock, director of the ISU Center for Agriculture and Rural Development; Roger Elmore, ISU Extension corn specialist; Larry Johnson, director of the ISU Center for Crops Utilizations and Research; Kendall Lamkey, chairman of ISU's department of agronomy; and Patrick Schnable, director of the Center for Plant Genomics at ISU.
