Register Now For Iowa Beginning Farmer Loan Program Workshops

A series of meetings is being held statewide in May and June to explain how to use Iowa's Beginning Farmer Loan Program.

Obtaining enough capital to pursue a career in production agriculture can be challenging. But if it's your dream to own and manage your own crop or livestock operation, the Iowa Agricultural Development Division may be able to lend a helping hand. It administers Iowa's Beginning Farmer Loan Program.

FINANCING BEGINNING FARMERS: The Iowa Ag Development Division of the Iowa Finance Authority is holding workshops statewide in May and June for ag service providers. Purpose is to explain how Iowa's Beginning Farmer Loan Program works and how it can be used to help young people get started in farming.

The IADD is a state agency that is part of the Iowa Finance Authority. The IADD was established by the Iowa General Assembly in 1980 to provide financial assistance to Iowa's grain and livestock producers. Operating expenses for the IADD are derived from modest application and service fees paid by program participants. The IADD also earns interest from a trust fund, but it does not receive any state tax dollars.

The Beginning Farmer program of the Iowa Agricultural Development Division of the Iowa Finance Authority is holding more than 20 workshops statewide in May and June. Agricultural service providers, CPAs, ag attorneys, ag lenders, farm managers, ISU Extension staff, Farm Bureau staff and FSA officers are encouraged to attend.

Benefits
