Small Business Bill Passes House

Bill is headed to President's desk.

A small business bill that earlier passed out of the U.S. Senate came up for a vote in the House on Thursday.  By a vote of 237 to 187 the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act, which would provide $30 billion dollars to fund small business lending, such as: loans to finance agricultural production and loans to farmers including those loans secured by farmland, was passed.

On the measure, 236 Democrats and one Republican voted yes while 174 Republicans and 13 Democrats opposed the bill. It is now on the President's desk and President Obama said in a statement that he would sign the small-business bill on Monday, calling it a common-sense plan to put Americans back to work.
