Growmark's 15th annual Essay Contest is open to high school FFA members.

Do you have a student with a knack for writing? Need some money for college? Consider entering Growmark's 15th annual Essay Contest.

The theme for this year's contest is "Understanding Cooperatives," and is open to all high school FFA members in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. The 500-word essays should offer educated opinions on the importance of cooperative history, ownership, and how cooperatives benefit their members and communities.

Deadline for Illinois entries is March 8. Additional information is available from agriculture teachers and online at www.growmark.com (click on About Us/Youth and Young Farmers).

Each state's winner earns a $500 scholarship and the winner's FFA chapter receives a $300 award. Four runners-up each win $125 scholarships.
