Children are at home this summer and farms are bustling with activity making the carefree days of summer an opportunity for farm accidents. Now, more than ever, is the time to think about farm safety. That's why Farm Progress Companies are joining forces with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation to support and promote the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program.
As one of the most well-known agriculture publishing companies in the United States, Farm Progress will provide $150,000 in in-kind advertising in its combined 18 Farm Progress publications.
"The Progressive Agriculture Foundation Safety Day has made a significant impact on farm safety education over the years. As one of the nation's leading agricultural media companies, we wanted to put our resources to work to further promote the mission of this great program," says Jeffry Lapin, president of Farm Progress Companies. "The issue of farm safety is a major part of our editorial coverage, and the support we're giving the Safety Day program is simply an extension of the efforts our editors are already making on a day-to-day basis."
In 2006, the Progressive Agriculture Foundation made possible more than 350 Safety Days educating nearly 79,000 children and adults about ways to stay safe and healthy on farms, ranches and at home. A few of the nearly 22 topics include: all-terrain vehicle safety, farm equipment safety, railroad safety, roadway safety and water safety.
The ads will feature the major sponsors and create general awareness about the Safety Days, but most importantly, the ads will provide schedules for the Safety Days within each publication's circulation.
"Farm Progress publications are extremely credible within the agriculture industry, and they are helping us continue to reach our goal to keep rural kids safe on the farm," says Randy J. Bernhardt, executive director – development for the Progressive Agriculture Foundation. "To partner with Farm Progress is a great honor, and we know that their publications will help us create greater awareness of Safety Days."
Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is a program of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation, a 501 (c ) (3) charitable foundation.
